Episode 35

Finding Safe Harbor: Online Refuge for Veterinarians

They say it’s a small world, but it’s getting more and more difficult to stand out from the crowd. Small, independent business owners have to work harder than ever to set themselves apart from big corporations in order to attract not only clients, but staff members as well. And with ever-increasing pressure on independent veterinary practices to stay afloat in a sea of competition, in addition to practicing high-quality medicine, stress is at an all-time high. Now more than ever, veterinarians need a place to find shelter from the storm.

That’s exactly what Harbor—an online community for the veterinary profession—is designed to provide.

In this episode, Harbor ambassador Thamires Nunes introduces us to this new platform for veterinary professionals and students. We explore Harbor’s networking and mentorship capabilities, discuss how Harbor supports veterinary wellbeing, and find out how Harbor is giving back to the profession.

In part two, we continue our Meet the Board series with Dr. Scott Pendleton, AVMA alternate delegate for Ohio.
