Steven Budsberg, DVM, M.S., DACVS

Dr. Budsberg is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Georgia. He obtained his DVM and M.S. from Washington State University. He did his internship at Angell Memorial and his surgical residency at Michigan State University. He was a faculty member at LSU and UGA and a practicing orthopedic surgeon for 35 years. His research focuses on Canine Gait Analysis, Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs and other analgesic agents for the treatment of chronic pain. He has been honored with several awards including the ACVS Founder Award for Career Achievement, the AVMA Career Achievement in Canine Research Award, the Pfizer Animal Health Award for Research Excellence (twice), the AVMA-AKC Excellence in Canine Research Award, the AVMA – Fido Award, and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association – Hill’s Pet Mobility Award. He has been recognized by Washington State University as a Distinguished Veterinary Alumnus and by Michigan State University as a Distinguished Postdoctoral Veterinary Alumnus. Most recently he was received the Founders Career Achievement Award from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
